Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question that’s not answered here — reach out, I’d be happy to help.
-
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. I encourage you to schedule a free consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for, what you hope to get out of therapy, and whether my approach feels like a good fit.
-
I work with adults (18+) who are navigating life transitions, chronic illness, grief, anxiety, depression, or burnout. Many of my clients are doing their best to keep it together while feeling emotionally drained, overwhelmed, or unsure of what comes next.
-
The first session is about getting to know you — your background, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you’d like to focus on. We’ll also talk through your goals and what you hope therapy will help you achieve. There’s no pressure to share everything right away; we’ll go at your pace.
-
That’s completely okay. You’re in control of what you share and when. Therapy should feel safe and collaborative — we’ll work together to build trust so that, when you’re ready, you can explore things more deeply at your own comfort level.
-
Yes! I offer a free consultation to ensure we’re a good fit and answer any questions before you begin. You can reach out directly through my contact form. Once I receive your message, I’ll get back to you within 24–48 business hours to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
Working Together
-
Most clients start with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum. As progress is made, we can adjust to biweekly or as-needed sessions based on your goals.
-
It depends on your needs. Some people come in for short-term support around a specific issue, while others benefit from ongoing work. We’ll regularly check in to make sure therapy continues to meet your goals.
-
All sessions are currently held virtually, allowing you to attend from the comfort of your home or any private space in Texas.
-
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee of $175.
-
Sometimes! We might use journaling prompts, mindfulness exercises, or gentle self-reflection tools to support your goals between sessions.
The Therapy Process
-
Virtual therapy (also called telehealth) allows us to meet online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. It offers the same level of care and connection as in-person sessions, with added flexibility and convenience.
-
Find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking. Headphones can help reduce distractions. You’ll receive a secure link before your session — just click and join from your computer, tablet, or phone.
-
Yes. Research shows online therapy can be just as effective as in-person care, especially when you feel comfortable in your own space.

Yes – I’m currently in-network with Aetna and Cigna.
I partner with Alma, a platform that manages insurance billing and eligibility checks on my behalf. Before we begin, Alma will confirm your benefits and share your estimated cost per session.
If you prefer to pay out-of-pocket, you can do so at my standard rate. Many clients choose this option for privacy and flexibility in their care.
-
If I’m not in-network with your plan, you may still be about to use out-of-network benefits. I can provide you with a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
-
Private pay offers more privacy, flexibility, and control over your treatment. Your records stay confidential between us, and we can tailor the length and focus of therapy to your needs — not to insurance requirements.
-
Payments are processed securely online using debit, credit, or HSA/FSA cards.
Rates and Insurance
-
You may notice small changes first - feeling more aware, lighter, or hopeful. We’ll check in regularly to track progress together.
-
Every therapist and approach is different. My goal is to meet you where you are move at your pace, and create a space that feels safe and effective for you.
